Thank You!

High time. It’s high time I acknowledged all the love and appreciation from my co bloggers.

10 whole months into the blogging arena and with it 10 beautiful awards. Every nomination has made me smile and feel so special.
The last months have seen a plethora of accolades acknowledging my work and in effect inspiring me. The little tributes motivate us, enliven our spirits and keep our fire burning. Now, we need to stay inspired in whatever we do.
I mean to accept every beautiful gesture that my fellow bloggers show me, but I had not yet found the right words. I still don’t really have the proper ones, but defer I can no more. I simply realized, You don’t need a good time to say Thank you!

To accept appreciation or praise requires a certain kind of talent. As Angie puts it in very simple words ‘Its an art”. Yes it is.
When bestowed with beautiful compliments, I smile, shift uncomfortably, mumble a few thank yous but feel elated on the inside. In our virtual world, the gesture is limited to words only.

I want to say to all my lovely new friends – a big big thank you. My blogging experience has been this enjoyable mostly because of you guys. I’m learning so much, having fun, reading good write ups, pleasing my family, baking(!!), cooking wonderful new recipes, developing new interests and passions – all thanks to YOU – Sonal, Shobhana, Priya, Anitha, Sheila, Angie, Eva, Dimple, Upaasna, Shankari, Celeste, Elson, Chintal, Anjana, Tanushree and Divya.

Starting with the first one, Shine On, was given to me by 4 bloggers – Sonal , Priya , Anitha, Shobhana

Playing by the rules, we have to answer a set of questions, I had almost 50 different ones to choose from, so here I am with my set of 10:

  • Describe yourself in 3 words.

Loving, Emotional, Anxious. If you ask my family they will have a very bizarre set. So don’t 😉

  • What is your favorite time of the day?

I have two – early morning, before the world wakes up and evenings when its time to relax, meet friends and watch my child play

  • Name one non food passion.

Reading

  • If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

Venice, Greece, Italy, Florence – yes Florence!

  • You most favorite cuisine?

Chinese – any time.

  • In a potluck what would you bring?

A dip and probably another appetizer or some main course, but definitely not dessert!

  • Recount special childhood memories about you?

Umm… childhood memories. There are many memories, but let me share a particular trait when I was about 10-13 year old. I was crazy about Indian movies, especially hindi movies. I was so enamoured by them, especially the actresses. So now if you are not familiar with Indian movies you will mostly not really understand the gravity of my antics, but this is what I did. I would temporarily get hypnotised by the latest movie seen and dress according to my latest obsessions.

Once I remember I had watched Sholay and a couple of days later was my uncle’s wedding. I tied my hair to the side(side ponytail types- like how Hema Malini had done in the movie), tried to tie my dupatta(stole) in a very weird way which made my dad flip. He thought his daughter had gone bonkers. Yea, I squirm when I see the pictures, the family has a field day though.

And when Maine Pyar Kiya released, I bugged my mum to get me the white salwar kameez with flowers on one side, which the lead actress wore and released doves(or pigeons?) into the air.
Yes, I got the dress but No, they didn’t get me any birds to fly. Sad.

One more? I got the green lehenga done what Madhuri Dixit wore for the wedding in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. But the dress was not enough, I wanted my hair to look just like hers and so when my short hair refused to tie in a bun, I forced them into one with at least 15 hair pins on my head.

No, dear readers, I was not mental, just …just a very easily fascinated teenager 🙂

  • Some random facts about you?

In the past 7 years I have lost 4 mobile phones, and spoilt 2. The latest to join the lost phone bandwagon was my 6 month old iphone. Yes friends I lost my iphone. My friends joke, I could write a book on how to lose a phone in a day. The object of pity is the husband. Poor guy. He earns. I lose.

  • If this were your last day to live, how would you like to spend your day?

If I knew I was dying by the end of the day.. well, in most probability, I would get all frantic and worried and start cooking enough to last for the next 7 days for my daughter and husband. I wouldn’t want them to eat out all the time..;)

  • What inspires you?

Life. Life inspires me. When I open my eyes after a good night’s sleep, it is inspiring to be blessed with one more day to live, to make the most, to be happy.
